Georgia Bizios and Brian Grant will be teaching an evening course in Duke University's Continuing Studies program.
Home Design: What Homeowners Need to Know.
Classes will be Tuesday evenings February 16 through March 2.
Course Description:
Building a house or renovating one is an exciting and rewarding venture. It is an opportunity to bring our ideas and dreams to life and to enhance our daily lives in a place we help create. Since a house is significant financial investment, the decision to embark on such a journey can be a scary one. Would you like to understand the building process better, and learn how to implement some of your ideas about space? This workshop is a must if you want to be actively involved in the home design process. We will help you identify and understand important home design issues. We will cover site and building design issues, costs and budgets, green and energy efficient strategies, and hiring a contractor. Recommended readings will supplement discussions.
