In transforming an existing ranch house, our goals were to clarify the floor plan, add storage, improve room organization, simplify circulation, and increase natural light. The renovated house provides a comfortable home for a young family. In addition, the garage was renovated into a light-filled artist's studio.

All the space needs for the new owners have been met within the envelope of the existing house, including the need for a home office; no extra square footage was required. The addition of windows, skylights, decks, and a bold new exterior color turned this house into a totally new place.
